SA Cleans Up! by Heinz Lohmann

SA Cleans Up! by Heinz Lohmann is a historical memoir which describes the rise of National Socialism in Germany, the violence of politics in the Weimar Republic and the activities of Sturmabteilung (SA) before the accession to power of Adolf Hitler.

Written originally in 1933, SA Cleans Up! is the story of Heinz Lohmann, a young German medical student who joined the National Socialist movement. The book tells about the author's political development from his political awareness in post-war Prussia to his political activism. The story of Lohmann describes the conflicts of ideology and politics which took place in Germany in the 1920s and the early 1930s.

In SA Cleans Up! the reader will find the descriptions of the clash between Nazi SA activists and the Communists, the working class recruitment, and the political instabilities which followed the economic crises in Germany.
