The standard service manual issued to Luftwaffe recruits — the airman's equivalent of the Army's "Reibert." Compiled by Generalmajor Ehrenfried Tschoeltsch, commander of the Luftwaffe's NCO schools, and published by E. S. Mittler & Sohn, the German military's principal publisher. This is the 13th, fully revised edition (1941 year-class), with a foreword dated September 1941 and a printed facsimile endorsement of Generalfeldmarschall Erhard Milch, State Secretary for Aviation, to the front matter.

Over 250 illustrations and plates across more than 300 pages take the new airman through the whole of basic service: conscription law, ranks and insignia, uniform and equipment, drill and conduct, guard duty, weapons, discipline, and military law. As a primary source it's a ground-level look at exactly what the German air force taught its enlisted men in the middle of the war.

This copy carries its original owner's handwritten entry on the printed Truppenstammrolle (personnel record) page inside the front cover — a period ownership inscription tying the book to the airman to whom it was issued. Original printed grey wrappers with the Luftwaffe eagle and a standing airman to the front cover.
